This is the American College of Surgeons approved course. This course is provided twice a year. It is a two day course offered to physicians at the USC Surgical Skill Center on the Keck School of Medicine Campus (2250 Alcazar Street, Los Angeles, CA 90033). The course fee is $700. We will also provide a course in September 2008, the specific dates to be announced.
The ACLS course is offered monthly and sometime twice a month (please see schedule). This is an American Heart Association (AHA) approved course. The course is conducted in accordance with AHA requirements. The AHA requires that all participate have a current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS-HP) certification card. They further require that all course participants have the current AHA ACLS manual. To prepare for your ACLS course, please complete the precourse examination, which is found on the compact disc included with the manual. Print the results of the examination and bring them to class on day one.

The American Heart Association (AHA) requires that anyone participating in an AHA class (ACLS, BCLS, or PALS) must have the current textbook and bring that text to all class meetings. To prepare for your ACLS course, please follow the steps in your Precourse Preparation checklist, which can be found in the AHA Provider Textbook. The 2005 handbook of Emergency Cardiovascular is recommended for drug therapy. You must also bring a current CPR card. Please be aware NO CURRENT TEXTBOOK, NO CLASS, NO EXCEPTIONS !
ACLS classes are from 8am-3:30pm on Day 1 and 8:30am-12:30pm on Test day. Megacode practice sessions are 8am-11am and 1pm-4pm. Please choose 1 to attend.
Recertification candidates (with current ACLS & BLS card) msut attend 1 megacode practice and the last/Test day of the course.
