The Urgent Access and Diagnostic Center Unit becamee operational on February 27th 2006. Its primary goals are to provide urgent, scheduled access for low-acuity patients who present to the LAC + USC Emergency room & facilitate rapid outpatient diagnostic options for patients who need timely evaluation. By providing this enhanced access, and coordination of the diagnostic services will ensure the rapid turnaround of patients in the UADC and should decrease the wait times of all patients in the UADC Unit and the Emergency Room.
At present – the UADC Unit has 7 medical providers (one senior physician, three physician specialists & two physician assistants). The Unit functions Monday thru Friday for 8 am – 8 pm.
