December 2008: Nicolas meets emergency physicians at Hopital Cochin in Paris and discusses the difference between our two systems.
September 2008: Nicolas Flies to Mumbai and Ahmedabad with the Flying Doc Team (Dr. Tushar Desai, Amar Lapsi, and Jim Crabtree, RN) to evaluate partnerships with Emergency Medicine programs in Mumbai and Lecture at the 1st national meeting of motor vehicle accidents (MoVaCon 2008).
July - August 2008: Nicolas flies to the Thai-Burma border with GHAP (Global Health Access Program) to teach backpack medics how to recognize TB in children.
July 1st, 2008: Dr. Nicolas Forget becomes the second Merkin Fellow of International Emergency Medicine after completing his residency at LAC+USC
June 30th, 2008: Dr. Elissa Schechter, the first Merkin Fellow of international Emergency Medicine, successfully completes her 2 year fellowship. She took an attending position at Boston University. She will be sorely missed. Congratulations!
