In November 2008 the new LAC+USC Medical Center opened its doors along side the historic General Hospital building. The new facility boasts 1.5 million-square-foot and 600 inpatient beds. The Emergency Department consists of 110 beds with an ED-dedicated CT scanner in the ED. The bulk of the emergency medicine residency training takes place at the LAC+USC Medical Center.
The LAC+USC Healthcare Network was founded in 1878 and became affiliated with the USC School of Medicine in 1885. Los Angeles County+USC Medical Center (LAC+USC) is the nation's largest academic institution. The historic LAC+USC General hospital building served the community of Los Angeles for 75 years. It it still operational as the home for many of the administrative offices for LAC+USC.
LAC+USC provides a full spectrum of emergency, inpatient and outpatient services. These include medical, surgical and emergency/trauma services in General Hospital. LAC+USC is the largest single provider of health care in L.A. County, and treats more than 28 percent of trauma victims in the region. In addition, LAC+USC operates one of only three burn centers in the County and one of the few Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Units in Southern California.

Formerly known as Queen of Angels/Hollywood Presbyterian, HPMC is a 434-bed acute care facility in the Hollywood/Los Feliz area of Los Angeles. PGY-2 residents spend 3 weeks on the Obstetrics service where they perform vaginal deliveries under the supervision of OB attendings.

Located in Pasadena, Huntington Memorial Hospital is a 525-bed non-profit, community hospital affiliated with the University of Southern California School of Medicine. The hospital features a Level III Neonatal ICU (NICU) and a nine bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (the only facility of its kind in the San Gabriel Valley). The emergency department at HMH is a Level II Trauma Center (also the only trauma center in the San Gabriel Valley), and sees well over 60,000 patients annually.
Some residents will spend one month in the HMH Emergency Department as PGY-2 residents. All residents rotate through the HMH ED as PGY-3 residents. In addition, PGY-4 residents do a 4-week rotation in the PICU.

Long Beach Memorial Medical Center (LBMMC) operates a Level Two Trauma Center, emergency chest pain center and pediatric emergency department. The ED has 56 beds and sees an annual volume of 47,000 patients, 40% of whom are children. Some residents will spend one month in the LBMMC Emergency Department as PGY-2 residents. In addition, PGY-4 residents may spend elective time in the pediatric ED at LBMMC.

Founded in 1902, Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is known as one of the best hospitals in the country. The hospital is a Pediatric Critical Care Center and a Level One Trauma Center. The Emergency Department features 32 beds and 4 trauma suites, and provides care to approximately 77,000 patients annually. Some residents will spend one month in the CSMC Emergency Department as PGY-2 residents.
