Thank you to all attendees, presenters and residency program directors for making the symposium a great success!
There were over 200 attendees from all over the country including New York, Chicago and Hawaii.
The 2010 symposium is planned to be held at the UCI School Of Medicine, with USC EMSIG offering support.
The 2009 Western Regional Emergency Medicine Student Symposium at the USC Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) was a chance for medical students interested in Emergency Medicine from all over the country to learn more about Emergency Medicine and the many residency programs offered in the Western states.
This one day event featured speakers from EM residency programs at USC, UCI, UCLA, UCSD, UCSF, Stanford and Loma Linda. The residency fair featured representatives from these and other West Coast EM residency programs.
The symposium hosted workshops on emergency ultrasound techniques with Dr. Jorge Fernandez and USC residents, EM relevant CT imaging with Dr. Christian Fox (UCI), and airway management taught by Dr. Sean Henderson and Dr. Stephen Docherty and their residents at the LAC USC DEM.

11am - 12 noon: Registration and lunch
12 - 1:40pm: Keynote speakers
1:50 - 4:40pm: Rotate through residency program fair, and workshops for Ultrasound, CT imaging and Airway access
4:50 - 6:15pm: Final keynote speakers
6:30pm: Adjourn to Barbara's Brewery for dinner and drinks
